Rubondo Island National Park is located on the South-West corner of Lake Victoria. The park offers a unique wilderness experience. Chimpanzees are the main attraction and visitors can take part in a unique Chimpanzee habituation experience.
Other wildlife include hippo, crocodile, vervet monkey, elephant, giraffe and sitatunga. Rubondo and it’s 11 smaller islands host a variety of migratory birds – bee eaters, fish eagles, kingfishers and storks flock to Bird Island to breed. The iconic Nile Perch is a prime catch for fisherman.
